Shop Amazon and, once you've found an item, you may have to select from different options,  such as size, quantity or color. After you've made all applicable selections, click the “add to cart” button.

You'll now have the option of continuing to shop, editing your cart, or proceeding to checkout. For this explanation, we'lll assume you're finished shopping and we'll click the “proceed to checkout” button.

Next you'll be directed to a page titled “Sign In,” where you can use an existing Amazon account or create a new one. You'll now find yourself directed to a page entitled “Select a Shipping Address.” Here you can select an existing shipping address you have previously used by clicking the bubble next to the appropriate address, or you can enter a new shipping address in the spaces provided. Now click the button labeled “ship to this address."

A page titled “Choose Your Shipping Options” is now displayed. Select the appropriate shipping option by clicking the bubble next to the desired shipping method and click the “continue” button. Standard shipping is typically the cheapest method unless you're using an Amazon promo code to reduce shipping costs. You can apply your Amazon promotional code at the next step.

Now you'll find yourself at the payment page titled “How Would You Like to Pay."  This is where you can both apply your Amazon promo code and select your payment method. Enter your Amazon promotional code in the box reading “gift cards and promotional codes” and click the “apply” button.

Now select the correct payment method and provide all the necessary details. If you have stored previous payment information, you'll have less information to fill out. You're ready to click the “continue” button. Keep in mind your card or checking account hasn't been charged at this point and you'll have a chance to review or edit your order before your payment is processed.

Review the items in your cart and your payment and shipping method to verify everything is correct. Make sure your order total reflects the savings indicated for the promo code. Once you've reviewed your order and verified everything is correct, you can submit your order by clicking the “place your order” button.

Your order is now submitted and you'll receive an email message acknowledging this fact then a second email when your order is shipped. Note your contract to purchase an item from Amazon.com isn't complete until you receive this email.
